In December 1973, the Holy Spirit awakened him to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It was not long after that God called him to preach.  He and JaNelle were married in 1975 and have three daughters.  In July 1987, Pastor J received his MDiv degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Some of the activities he enjoys are motorcycles, camping, and fishing.

Gary surrendered to the Lord in December 1986 and has attempted to serve Him faithfully ever since. He and Cynthia married in November of 1997 and moved from Colorado to Brewster, Kansas in 2005. Shortly after moving to Kansas, they began attending Brewster Community Church and became members. Gary has been the music minister for most of this time and, soon after, an elder of the church.
